NutriBullet: Which Is the Best NutriBullet Model?

NutriBullet: Which Is the Best NutriBullet Model?

More than just a blender, the NutriBullet is a nutrient extractor. Equipped with high-torque motors and unique cyclonic action, each NutriBullet blender breaks down the toughest ingredients to produce the smoothest smoothies, soups, and sauces. With minimal prep times and flip-top lids, NutriBullet is ideal for busy lifestyles and for anyone who wants to get healthy.

The original NutriBullet was one of the first personal blenders on the market. Designed specifically for those with active lifestyles, it makes quick work of fruit and vegetable ingredients to produce healthy, nutrient-rich smoothies.

Since the release of the original NutriBullet, three more models have been released including the more powerful NutriBullet Pro 900 series, the NutriBullet Balance which calculates nutrition information in real time, and the NutriBullet Rx which specializes in preparing hot blended soups.

But what makes the different NutriBullet models unique, and which option is best?

The Short Answer: If you want to know which NutriBullet model is best, most people would agree that the title goes to the NutriBullet Pro (900-watt). Not only is it one of the top personal blenders on the market, but it offers a price-to-performance ratio that is difficult to beat.

The Long Answer: Each of the four NutriBullet models offers a unique array of features. The best way to choose the model that is right for you is to compare them side-to-side – that’s exactly what we’ve done.

Here’s a quick overview of the basic features and the notable differences between the top four NutriBullet models:

Each of the four NutriBullet models offers something unique. If you’re going for simplicity, stick with the original NutriBullet. For more power and smoother blends, the NutriBullet Pro takes things up a notch with a 900-watt motor and more options for cups, lids, and rings. The NutriBullet Balance offers Bluetooth connectivity with smart devices to track nutrition info in real time while the larger NutriBalance Rx adds a heating cycle for making hot soups and sauces.

Our Top Pick: NutriBullet Pro 900

What It’s Good For: Silky smooth blends from the toughest fruits and vegetables, perfect for on-the-go.

NutriBullet Pro 900 Series
The best all-around

personal blender.

Powerful and easy to use with large to-go cups and interchangeable lids.
Buy it on Amazon for $70

The NutriBullet Pro 900 Series won our top pick simply because it offers the best bang-for-your-buck out of the whole NutriBullet lineup. This personal blender is priced under $100 but it yields the same silky smoothies you’d get with the more expensive Balance and Rx models. All NutriBullet blenders utilize nutrient extraction technology, but the NutriBullet Pro 900 is uniquely designed for busy lifestyles with several cup sizes and convenient on-the-go accessories.

We love the NutriBullet Pro 900 Series because it offers the best bang-for-your-buck out of the whole NutriBullet lineup.

Though the 900-watt motor is certainly an improvement over the original NutriBullet, what we really love is the accessories. The basic kit comes with the 24-ounce tall cup and the 32-ounce colossal cup as well as a flip-top to-go lid. You can upgrade your NutriBullet Pro 900 with additional accessories such as smaller 18-ounce cups with handle lids or additional flip-top lids. The NutriBullet Pro 900 comes with a 1-year warranty, but you can purchase an extended protection plan up to 4 years for an additional $6.

The Other Options

While the NutriBullet Pro 900 is perfect for busy lifestyles and on-the-go convenience, it isn’t the only option available. There are three more NutriBullet models to consider:

The Original NutriBullet

What It’s Good For: Basic blended smoothies made with chopped ingredients.

Original NutriBullet
Cost-effective option for basic blending.
Beginner-friendly with two cup sizes and nutrient-extraction technology.
Buy it on Amazon for $60

Though it may be the oldest (and most basic) member of the NutriBullet family, the original NutriBullet offers some excellent features. Equipped with a 600-watt motor, this personal blender does a decent job of breaking down fruits and vegetables, though the results could certainly be smoother (like the NutriBullet Pro). We found that back-to-back blends left something to be desired and the motor became strained fairly quickly. For just $30 more, we recommend the more powerful 900-watt NutriBullet Pro.

In terms of accessories, you get what you pay for with this model. The heart of the original NutriBullet is the 600-watt Power Base which generates the power for the Cyclonic Action-equipped extractor blade. You’ll also get two cups – the 18-ounce short and the 24-ounce tall – with a handled and a regular comfort lip ring, respectively. As with all NutriBullet blenders, you’ll also receive the Pocket Nutritionist as well as the user guide and recipe book.

If you’re looking for a basic blending solution and you don’t plan to use too many tough ingredients, the original NutriBullet may be the only personal blender you need. Otherwise, it might be worth upgrading to the more powerful NutriBullet Pro 900.

The NutriBullet Balance

What It’s Good For: Real-time nutritional information and portion calculations for a more balanced smoothie experience.

NutriBullet Balance
The best blender for personal nutrition and special diets.
Connect to smart device for real-time nutritional value and portion calculations.
Buy it on Amazon for $130

The newest addition to the NutriBullet family, the NutriBullet Balance offers Bluetooth connectivity to smart devices as well as a variety of useful smart features. The NutriBullet Balance app walks you through each recipe step-by-step as the built-in scale weighs your ingredients and calculates the nutrition information. You can start the blender from your smartphone and customize the thickness to your personal tastes. Wait for your smoothie to be blended to the perfect consistency, or walk away and let the blender do its work.

Whether you’re trying to lose weight or improve your nutrition, the NutriBullet Balance has all the features you need as well as a large collection of healthy recipes on the NutriBullet Balance app. Choose from one of the recipes in the app or make your own, calculating nutrition information as you go and saving the recipe when you’re done so you can recreate it later. The smoothies themselves are perfectly blended and lump-free, though it’s hard to tell if there’s much of a difference between the NutriBullet Balance’s 1200-watt motor and the 900-watt motor on the NutriBullet Pro.

Like the NutriBullet Pro, the NutriBullet Balance comes with the basics which means you won’t be cluttering up your cabinets with unnecessary accessories. This blender comes with the 1,200-watt power base, extractor blade, two 32-ounce colossal cups, 2 lip rings, and 2 flip-top to-go lids. You can always buy more accessories if you choose, like the smaller 24-ounce to-go cup with flip-top lid.

Though the NutriBullet Balance certainly offers some unique features (and a healthy collection of recipes on the app), we’re not sure it’s worth the extra cost. You could do just as well with the NutriBullet Pro 900 and a digital kitchen scale to weigh ingredients.

The NutriBullet Rx

What It’s Good For: An all-purpose blender for fresh smoothies as well as hot soups and sauces.

NutriBullet Rx
All-in-one blender for smoothies, soups, & sauces.
Equipped with a heat cycle for single- and family-size servings of soups and sauces.
Buy it on Amazon for $150

The NutriBullet Rx is more than just a personal blender. Not only is it larger than other blenders in the NutriBullet lineup, but it also features a heating cycle to make soups and sauces. This personal blender is equipped with a 1,700-watt motor in a power base that measures a full 9 ½ inches tall by 6 ¼ inches wide. Not only is the base wider, but the blade assembly and blending cups are super-sized as well. In fact, the blending cups may be too wide for more car cup holders and they don’t come equipped with screw-top travel lids like the cups that come with the NutriBullet Pro.

Although the more powerful motor on the NutriBullet Rx seems like a benefit, it is counteracted by the fact that it only has four blades (the other three models have six). In testing this model, we found that it left chunks of frozen fruit behind – this could also be due to the fact that the blades aren’t as long. The blades on the NutriBullet Rx measure just 2/3 inch versus the 1-inch blades on the other NutriBullets, leaving room on the sides for ingredients to escape blending.

If you’re going to splurge on a personal blender with all the bells and whistles, you could certainly do worse than the NutriBullet Rx. Due to issues with the blades and the awkward sizing however, your money might be better spent on the more affordable NutriBullet Pro 900.

Putting It All Together

The fact of the matter is that NutriBullet knows what they’re doing when it comes to personal blenders – you can’t really go wrong with any of the four models. While the NutriBullet Pro 900 is our top pick overall, we love the simplicity of the Original NutriBullet and the premium features of the NutriBullet Balance and NutriBullet Rx. Simply decide which features are most important to you and choose the appropriate model – you won’t be disappointed.
